American Buckeye

American Buckeye – Aesculus glabra.

A stunning tree that was intensely felled, due to its fruit/nuts being poisonous to cattle the native Americans would use them by extracting tannic acid for use in leather.

Its a meadium sized tree that grows to 25 metres in height, it grows in rocky outcrops and dynamite is used to extract the root systems to be turned into stunning bases for tables.

We have one stump in our workshop and on this will be a slab of glass held in place with chrome fixings. This will make an exceptionally beautiful coffee table.
