Live edge bow tie oak table, some times the simple things are quite literally stunning, this bow tie oak table was one of them.
A very simple slab of English oak 8ft x 3 x3 inches, at one end of the slab was a large natural split which we held together with 3 large oak bow ties.

This is a process that holds timber together whilst making a feature, these particular bow ties were made from English oak, however contrasting timbers can be used to accentuate the feature, these highlight a natural defect in the timber and rather than fill defects give a more natural feel.
